Memorial Day – Vets Sail Free
Memorial Day may seem like it’s just another excuse to party, but before you make your weekend plans, consider who has died for your country so that you can have the freedom to enjoy that cookout. This May 25th holds deep significance for Americans, as it honors all the soldiers — men and women — who died serving our country in wars. Also referred to as Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a time to reflect on all those who have died fighting for our hard-earned freedom — something many of us take for granted each and every day.
Time to Say Thanks with a Free Sail
Many of you will never see the inside of a tank, war room, or bunker in the middle of the desert. There are countless who have, and many of whom never got to come home. So as you sit and cherish your kids, friends, brothers, sisters and parents this weekend, remember you wouldn’t be here to have those laughs were it not for the bravery of the hundreds of thousands of souls who have died fighting for your rights. In honor of this day of remembrance, here at Victory Cruises, we are welcoming all vets to sail FREE this weekend. In between honoring the fallen with parades and private gatherings, please make us a part of your weekend. Let off some steam, re-connect with friends, take in a show, have a bite to eat and hopefully win some money!

A Holiday of Thanks
Think about the Day That Will Live in Infamy: Pearl Harbor in 1941, where 2,300 service lives were lost in that one raid alone. Think back to both World Wars, where more than 600,000 lives were taken — man of whom were young boys at the tender age of 18. Fast forward to the Vietnam War which claimed 60,000 lives. The new age of wars, from Operation Desert Storm to Operation Enduring Freedom, took nearly 8,000 lives in the last three decades. Remember: Today’s United States military is 100 percent made up of volunteers. There hasn’t been a draft since the early 1970s in this country. That means that everyone who enters service now knows the risks they’re taking yet choose to do so anyway. Let’s honor the brave who have perished in war by honoring our nation’s vets this weekend. Join us in celebrating their efforts by enjoying a relaxing, fun and social experience on board Victory Cruises.
